How much does a car parking shade cost?
There is no single rate that applies to every car parking shade in Saudi Arabia. Two canopies covering the same area may need different steel sections, support arrangements, foundations and installation methods. A price is useful only when the scope behind it is clear.
This guide explains how to prepare your inquiry and compare quotations. It does not publish a fixed price list or an unverified starting rate. Your written quotation identifies the selected materials, work included, exclusions and applicable terms.
Price per square metre or price per parking bay?
A rate per square metre can help compare proposals when the measured area, structure and scope are the same. Ask whether the supplier has priced the roof coverage, the parking area or another measured basis. Confirm the dimensions used before comparing totals.
A price per bay can be easier to discuss for a villa or a small parking row. It still needs an agreed bay size, clear height and layout. A single bay and a shared row of bays do not necessarily have the same cost per car.
For a lump-sum quotation, check the total covered area and the complete scope. Keep the quantity basis visible so that any later change in coverage can be reviewed clearly.
The main factors behind your price
1. Coverage, span and support positions
The number of bays, canopy dimensions and height affect the design. A longer clear span or a restricted support zone can change the steelwork and foundations. A cantilever parking shade may help keep the vehicle approach clear, but its cost must be reviewed against the actual span and loading rather than the design name alone.
2. Fabric and roof requirements
HDPE shade fabric and PVC-coated fabric serve different coverage requirements. Review the specified brand or grade, nominal weight, colour and supporting documentation. Rain protection also depends on seams, geometry and drainage.
Where a PVDF-finished or PTFE-coated membrane is specified, send the full material requirement. A coating name or fabric weight alone is not enough to establish equivalent performance or price. Our shade fabric comparison guide explains the questions to review.
3. Steelwork and protective finish
Columns, arms, rafters, connections and base plates follow the project design. Painted, powder-coated and hot-dip galvanized steel involve different preparation and finishing processes. The quoted system should match the agreed exposure conditions and specification.
4. Foundations and the existing ground
Confirm who is responsible for excavation, concrete foundations, reinstatement and any required surveys. Existing paving, buried services, poor ground information or restricted excavation access can affect the work. Civil work is included only when it is stated in the accepted quotation.
5. Location and installation access
Transport, lifting access, working hours, permits and site induction requirements influence delivery and installation planning. An operating hospital, school or industrial plant may need phased work or controlled access. Tell us about these conditions with your inquiry.
6. New installation or fabric replacement
Replacing the fabric is a different scope from supplying a complete new structure. The retained steelwork, connections and fixings need assessment before reuse is confirmed. Send clear photographs of damaged or corroded areas with your fabric replacement inquiry.

What to send for an accurate quotation
- Project city and site location.
- Parking layout, dimensions or the number of bays.
- Required clear height and any vehicle-access restrictions.
- Preferred design and fabric, or the consultant’s specification.
- Site photographs and available drawings or BOQ.
- Responsibility for civil work and lifting equipment.
- Required completion date and permitted working hours.

Warranty, programme and aftercare
Check the warranty for the exact supplied fabric and distinguish it from steelwork and installation coverage. Manufacturer terms, exclusions and the agreed project warranty should be reviewed together. We do not apply one warranty period to every material and structure.
Fabrication and installation dates are confirmed after reviewing the scope, approvals, material availability and site access. Foundation work and any concrete loading requirements must follow the approved design and site programme.
Maintenance, cleaning, re-tensioning, repairs and future fabric replacement can be discussed for the installation. Permit-related drawings and engineering-office coordination are reviewed where required. Electrical installation is outside our scope.
