Keep arrivals, parking and walking routes distinct
Mark how cars enter, turn, park and leave before choosing a canopy. For an accommodation property, show drop-off space separately from long-stay bays. For residential parking, include gate movement and the route to the front door. Columns should be considered with these movements rather than added to an already fixed picture of the roof.
Tell us which parts of the property must remain accessible. If work needs to be coordinated around busy occupancy periods, include that information in the message. We confirm the installation sequence after reviewing the scope; there is no assumed completion period for every Makkah site.
Choose a support arrangement that fits the space
Single cantilever shades may be considered where a row needs support on one side. Double cantilever arrangements can suit opposing rows if the support line and circulation allow. Pyramid, arch and tensile options may suit other layouts. We assess clear height, support positions and the roof outline against the actual vehicles and boundaries.
A canopy footprint is not the same as usable shaded parking throughout the day. Orientation, neighbouring buildings and the time the parking is used should form part of the discussion. Send site photographs from more than one direction if a drawing is unavailable.
Select the roof with its drainage and maintenance needs
Fabric options include HDPE and PVC-coated polyester, with PTFE and PVDF-finished membrane choices reviewed where relevant. If a rigid cover is being considered, polycarbonate, metal or sandwich-panel options require a suitable supporting design. Do not select a roof by appearance without reviewing how water is managed and how it will be inspected.
Painted, powder-coated and hot-dip galvanized steel finishes can be considered against the specification. Existing buildings, services and any owner requirements need review before the design is confirmed. Project-specific dimensions and engineering are established for the site, not copied from another property.
One scope for parking and associated shade areas
Where an entrance route also needs cover, a walkway shade can be reviewed alongside the parking layout. We also offer school, playground and pool shades and tensile structures for suitable applications. Keep vehicle and pedestrian requirements distinct even when they are part of the same inquiry.
The process begins with scope review, followed by any required survey, design and engineering, fabrication and installation. Foundation and civil-work responsibilities are agreed in the quotation. For existing installations, fabric replacement and repair depend on the condition of the frame and connections.

Can you work around an occupied hotel or commercial property?
Tell us which entrances, parking bays and pedestrian routes must stay available. We review access and phasing with the property team before confirming arrangements.
Should a drop-off area use the same dimensions as car bays?
Not automatically. Vehicle movement, stopping space and pedestrian access differ from parked-car requirements. Show both areas separately for review.
Do you serve Makkah from a local branch?
No. Umbrella Tent & Shades is based in Dammam and serves Makkah through its Saudi-wide service. Site attendance is arranged for the agreed scope.
