Coastal exposure changes the discussion
Projects in Dammam, Khobar, Jubail and Jeddah should identify their actual exposure and any client coating standard at the inquiry stage. Distance from the coast alone does not define the complete requirement.
Confirm the steel finish
Painted, powder-coated and hot-dip galvanized finishes are available for different project needs. Where a marine-grade system is specified, APCS 6 or an accepted equivalent can be reviewed against the stated requirement. Any proposed equivalent remains subject to project acceptance.
Review the complete roof and drainage
Fabric selection, fixings, support positions and water management work together. For rigid roofs, include drainage routes and connections. For tensile work, the geometry and edge conditions must suit the proposed layout.
Plan access and future maintenance
Record restricted access, working hours and nearby operations before installation planning. The finished layout should also allow reasonable inspection, cleaning and future fabric replacement where required.
